Red Cardinal Hat Bowl by Pauly & Cie

Pauly & Cie. established glass making workshops on the Venetian island of Murano in 1866. Pauly et Cie. are world famous for their modern interpretations of traditionally made Italian glass, using the same secret glass techniques employed in the historic 17th and 18th century Murano glass workshops. This incredible piece is one of the larger versions I have seen, a rare find.

This fine red Murano glass dish is typical of Pauly & Cie.’s exceptional eye for detail. The apparently simple form belies the sophistication of the almost invisible turned rim and shaped bowl.
