Fine and Highly Decorative German Silver Figure of a French King – Hanau, c.1927

A magnificent and ornately detailed German (Hanau) silver model of a standing French king, with London import marks for ‘T C & Son Ltd’, and attributed to Berthold Hermann Müller, circa 1927.

The crowned and caped monarch is depicted holding a tapering scrolled shield beautifully decorated with fleur-de-lis and intricate motifs. His tunic and armour are exquisitely detailed, featuring an elaborate rosary across the chest. The figure has a finely carved ivory head and hands, the head crowned in silver, showcasing exceptional craftsmanship and realism.

He stands upon a canted square base with a pierced scrolling foliate border, enhancing the piece’s regal and decorative appeal.
