Large Carved & Painted Wooden Statue of Vishnu on Garuda

An impressive and vibrant carved wooden statue depicting the Hindu god Vishnu seated upon Garuda, the great mythical bird and his divine mount.

This older piece is richly painted, with contrasting textures: smooth, glossy finishes on the lighter skin tones and more subdued detailing on the feathers and base.

Condition is fair for its age, with some expected wear — a few wing tips chipped and a natural build-up of age-related surface grime, the wings and back section is detachable — but it remains a striking and characterful work.

The statue measures approximately 75cm high, 45cm wide, and stands on a circular base.
