A Rare and Charming Pair of Alcora Talavera Faience Partridge Tureens

A truly delightful and rare find—this pair of 18th-century Alcora Talavera faience partridge tureens comes complete with original domed covers, each topped with a finely modelled small bird. Richly decorated with beautifully hand-painted plumage and perched on circular bases, these pieces showcase the vibrant artistry and charm typical of Alcora ware.

It is exceptionally rare to find a matching pair, especially in such wonderful condition and with their original covers, one repaired. Each tureen bears blue factory marks and is a testament to fine Spanish craftsmanship from around 1790.

There is some expected age-related wear, and the small birds on the covers have been reattached—all clearly shown in the photos. Still, the overall condition is excellent, considering their age, and they present beautifully.

Comparable pieces with replaced (not original) covers have fetched close to $7,000 at Christie's  making this pair a highly desirable addition for any serious collector of European ceramics or faience.
